Howes grew up in Brighton and went to Birmingham University in 2000, staying ever since. Howes trained as an art teacher at the University of Central England, graduating in 2005. Howes then worked solely in education for the next 11 years. In 2016, she took a break from teaching to focus on family and her own practice. Since 2018 she has returned to teach part-time, as well as completing an MA with distinction in 2022 at Birmingham City University.
Since she completed her Masters in Art and Design, Howes has taking part in various events and exhibitions, including collaborations with a group she helped to form; Amass Artists Collective. Howes is currently Video Content Editor for the collective. Her current interests combine media in new ways and delve into theories on 'looking', with recent experimentations utilising the digital, and its relationship with physical space. Howes is always open to new collaborations and opportunities as both a solo artist and with her collective. Let's talk!
